8 Days from Marrakech, dunes of Erg Zahar

With our trekkings only for women you leave your everyday life behind you. You dive into the fascination and beauty of the desert. You get to know the life of the Berbers and Nomads. Our guides cook for you traditional food and you sleep in small tents or under the thousands of stars. Our group size is always small. You have time to absorb the power of the desert. You have time for meditation in the morning, during the trekking or in the evening. You have time for YOU.

Day 1 Arrival

We will pick you up from Marrakech airport and take you to a beautiful riad for your overnight stay. -/-/-.

Day 2 Drive to Mhamid

In the morning, we set off from your riad and drive towards the High Atlas Mountains. We cross the Tizin Tichka Pass at an altitude of approx. 2,260 metres. On the way, we take a few breaks to take photos and enjoy the landscape of the Atlas region.

We visit the famous and well-preserved Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The 17th century kasbah has been the backdrop for numerous Hollywood films.

Around midday we reach Ouarzazate, where some film studios are still active today. We then continue to the green Draa river valley, which is lined with thousands of palm trees. We drive to Mhamid and from there directly into the desert to our first overnight camp. B/-/D

Day 3 Mhamid - Sidi Naji

In the morning we meet our crew and the dromedaries. Our route takes us in the direction of Erg Zahar. We take a lunch break under a shady tree. After we have recovered, we hike to our second night camp. Once we arrive in Sidi Naji, we pitch our tents near a sacred site of the nomads. Dinner around the campfire and a night under the stars. Now you can feel the magic of the Sahara. B/L/D

Day 4 Sidi Naji - Erg Zahar

From Sidi Naji to Erg Zahar, we cross an area with many sand dunes. After lunch we head towards the sea of sand named Erg Zahar, our overnight place. We have the afternoon to take in the power of the desert in peace and quiet. We enjoy the sunset on one of the highest sand dunes in Morocco and look forward to a traditional dinner at the camp fire. Day 5 Erg Zahar - Kraayat Jmal

In the morning, we continue our trek through the extraordinarily beautiful dune landscape. After about 3 hours, we stop for lunch under a shady tree. We walk on to the Kraayat Jmal dunes, our overnight stop. A vast land of sand and rocky desert. Dinner around the campfire and overnight stay under the stars or in a tent. B/L/D

Day 6 Kraayat Jmal - Mhamid

After a beautiful sunrise, we enjoy our last breakfast in the desert and make our way back to Mhamid. For lunch we reach another landscape called Lbour. After another 3 hours, our unforgettable desert trekking comes to an end and we are back in Mhamid by late afternoon. B/L/D

Day 7 Return to Marrakech by Bus

In the early morning, we take you to the bus station. The CTM bus departs at 6.00 am and arrives at Marrakech at around 3 pm. We go to our riad and enjoy this fabulous city for the rest of the day. -/-/-

Day 8 Return flight

Or you can stay a few more days in Marrakech and be enchanted by the flair of a thousand and one night. B/-/-
